| Each year, ICOM, the UNESCO International Council of Museums organizes an International Museum Day on May 18. This year, the theme is: “Museums: agents of social change and development”. ICOM Headquarters is proposing an activity at The Tech Museum of Innovation – The Tech Virtual – on Second Life, the 3D online platform. We would like technology professionals around the world to set up, in their museum, computer terminals with some personnel from the museum acquainted with this virtual world to aid the public, museum professionals, artists and the entire museum community to discuss, debate and meet together for all the online IMD festivities on 18 May. To get started on Second Life, please create your “avatar” and download SECOND LIFE onto your computer. For us to be able to recognize each other and to include you in our ICOM group, please call your avatar: yourfirstnameNAMEOFTHEMUSEUM (no spaces) and choose whichever last name you like from the list provided by SECOND LIFE.

| This accredited by Gruntdvig course will be focusing on the use and reuse of educational content. The course is aimed to science and maths teachers of high school as well as to science centers pedagogues.The training course aims first to develop science education teachers’ and trainers’ skills in searching, sharing and developing educational resources adopting the learning objects paradigm and then, to get familiar with specific issues related to their application to technology-enhanced science education. |

Aims
To familiarize participants with examples of good practice in Science and Mathematics teaching demonstrated by work developed under the ISSUE Comenius 2.1 project.
To promote a culture of reflective practice and research among teachers and to facilitate the exchange of good practice and expertise.
To increase teacher collaboration within the European dimension of science education.
Target group
This course is aimed at teachers/teachers-trainers, from any level of education, who are interested in designing teaching-learning sequences and developing the skills necessary to run online science courses with their students. |
